COPE Champions Page

COPE is an immersive and interactive experience that will deepen your understanding of the impacts that poverty in America has on families, children, and the broader community.

Why COPE:

Making meaningful connections with families in crisis often involves coming face-to-face with situations of poverty. Many in our communities and churches want to help, but may feel isolated from poverty, or unsure how to respond in a way that leads to real change.

COPE will:

  • Deepen your understanding and urgency around poverty in America

  • Help the church community develop grace-filled practices and approaches as we reach out to families in crisis

  • Unleash the restorative and reconciling power of the church that can bridge divides and distances in our communities.

Why bring COPE to your community

The COPE experience can accommodate from 25 up to 120 people in a 2.5 hour immersive training. COPE will bring together in one place various domains of the community that have a stake in helping families in crisis. In this way, COPE will level set the issues of poverty as well as accelerate new learning and relationships that can foster collaborations and teamwork around some of the biggest challenges your community faces.

“What’s so powerful about COPE is that it is intense and it offers an emotional taste of the weight of poverty. And there is something about that that opens up our willingness to understand poverty differently, to consider, ‘Maybe I’ve been thinking wrongly about this, or not thoroughly enough about this,’ that’s really powerful. When you feel it you might be willing to rethink it.”
