Thank you for your interest in being a Guest Speaker for an upcoming Power Hour!

Each month Think Tank hosts a virtual conversation (Power Hour) with our national network of Exchange members. Our network includes organizations and ministries offering programs and support to families journeying out of poverty. From public schools, healthcare institutions to small grassroots ministries--all with a shared mission to tackle poverty from a holistic perspective and seek to learn from those with personal experience in poverty.

Guest Speakers share their experiences to help connect people to the lived realities of poverty. This connection and shared learning is important to creating sustainable solutions and creating community transformation.

Please take some time to review the FAQ’s below as you consider being a upcoming guest speaker:

When & Where?

Third Wednesday of every month at 3pmEST via zoom. We ask that guest speakers log-in at 2:30pm to test technology and meet with the facilitator. A calendar invite is shared with guest speakers prior to the session to finalize the date/time and provide the zoom long in details.

Time Commitment

We have an hour-long listening call with all guest speakers to get to know one another. We also use this time to answer any questions you may have and prepare for the upcoming Power Hour. We also ask that guest speakers take time to prepare their talking points for conversation and take some time to practice prior to the live Power Hour.

The Audience

Here are some links to a few of the organizations that participate in the Power Hours. The participants range from Directors leading organizations, front-line staff working with families to community volunteers. We like to say it's a fun and caring group!

What’s the Format?

We recommend you take a peek at a Power Hour recording here so you can get a feel for the flow of the session. We ask Guest Speakers to be prepared to share their testimony/story for approximately 15-20 minutes after a brief welcome from our facilitator. After you share the remainder of the call is open for questions and a “community conversation”.

Why is the session called a Power Hour

Our guests get to hear from and talk directly with people who have actually faced the problems they are working to address. They leave feeling empowered to make real change in their communities.
